World Tea Day - wholesale tea

Australia is a nation of tea drinkers. Or to be more precise, almost half of the population is. Research by Roy Morgan revealed that 47.6% of Australians drink tea. Predictably, the largest group of tea drinkers are Baby Boomers (61.1%) but surprisingly, 32.3% of Generation Z (born between 1991 – 2005) drink hot tea. In fact, Gen Z are more likely to drink hot tea than coffee or hot chocolate.

But there is also another trend towards functional formulations that is set to shake up consumer perception and interest in tea. Research by Mintel revealed that consumers will be looking for more functional beverages to help with overall wellbeing – specifically, focus and relaxation.

By their very nature, many teas are functional without even trying. Consider the restful properties of chamomile tea, the digestive benefits of peppermint tea or the antioxidants in a cup of green tea.

Tea ticks multiple boxes for consumers. It is accessible, affordable and increasingly, as tea manufacturers become more adventurous in how they embrace healthful herbs in their tea blends, it leans into the growing functional beverage category.

At Unique Health Products we have an extensive range of premium, wholesale tea brands and products. With World Tea Day just around the corner on 21 May, expand your tea offering and get your customers excited about the possibilities of the humble cuppa.

Buddha Teas use organic and wild harvested ingredients to keep the range of teas as natural as possible.
